The Dubai Saturday Club is a fun, informal educational programme for teenagers from across Dubai’s schools. The aim of the club is to introduce them to future careers, enhance their 21st century skills and develop a passion and purpose. Saturday workshops are hosted in partnership with local universities, social entrepreneurs and professionals who are passionate about presenting career choices to students and helping them make the world better and happier.
Our inspiration for starting the Dubai Saturday Club was the UK’s National Art & Design Saturday Club. Thanks to our partnership with the Design & Fashion Council, Dubai Design District (d3), Dubai Creativity Clusters Authority and Dubai Culture, students have the opportunity to explore their innate passion for design, as well as tap into their creative, collaborative and communicative skills – the key components for a happy, healthy and productive life.
Since it was established in 2016, the Dubai Saturday Club has completed four seasons and has seen over 330 students attend the club. Season 5 (falling within the academic year 2019-20) aims to reach more students and build on the popular workshops from previous seasons. We are also bringing on board more partners and hence a wider variety of workshops. Due to the nature of the workshops, some partners spread the learning over 2-3 Saturdays while others are just single workshops. So we recommend that students choose their workshops based on interest, continuity, timing and location.
For this season, we’re once again inviting young adults aged 12-15 from Dubai schools to take part in the #DubaiSaturdayClub with workshops held from November 2019 to March 2020. Each session will be delivered by mentors (and their teams) in the fields of Creativity, Design, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Photography, Self-development, Sustainable Design and Wellbeing.
The Dubai Saturday Club is free to attend and you will not be assessed!
So what are you waiting for? Join us now.
